San Luis Obispo's police department and city council are looking at new party related ordinances to be approved January. Last May, SLO's social host ordinance was put into effect, raising the fines related to hosting a party where minors are drinking from $100 to $350 on the first offense. The goal was to stop parties where high-risk behavior was occurring.

The Tribune recently ran a string of articles condemning local college students for WOW week's public drunkenness and disruptive behavior. The uproar led to police hearings and city ordinances aimed at fining the pants off of anyone who throws a rager. The city council is also looking to slap fees on downtown bars for using too many police resources.
